About ERS 2026
Welcome to the official website of the European Respiratory Society (ERS) Congress - an annual event that brings together the world’s respiratory experts to showcase all the latest advances in respiratory medicine and science. The ERS Congress 2026 will be held from September 5–9 in Barcelona, Spain, at Fira Gran Via, focusing on the theme "United for better breathing: partnership between patients, clinicians and researchers".
The ERS International Congress is the world’s largest meeting for respiratory physicians, scientists, allied health professionals and all areas of respiratory medicine. ERS is one of the leading medical organisations in the respiratory field, with a growing membership spanning over 160 countries. ERS prioritises science, education and advocacy in order to promote lung health, alleviate suffering from disease and drive standards for respiratory medicine globally.
We offer a range of activities from e-learning, interactive teaching and activities to harmonise education standards, alongside funding opportunities for fellowships, awards and grants. This year places a significant emphasis on patient perspectives, aiming to empower patients and integrate their real- world challenges directly into the scientific programme.
